Valentine's Day Cookie Box Tutorial

IMG_5110.jpg

Please click on the link below to see how I created my Valentine's Day Cookie Box.  You don't have to rush out and purchase all the supplies on the list, you can get creative with alternative options.  One of the options is to add sprinkles to the sides of the box if you don't have an airbrush and edible paper.  Have fun with this project.

My Sugar Cookie Recipe

  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour sifted

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar

  • 2 Sticks Butter

  • 1 T Vanilla Extract

  • 1 Egg

  • 2 t Baking POWDER

In a stand mixer (with wisk attachment) mix sugar and butter on med-high until fluffy.  Add egg and vanilla and mix.  Switch to paddle attachment and add flour and baking powder and mix until dough forms.  Do not over mix!  If too soft, add a little more flour.

Preheat oven to 350.  Roll out dough on parchment paper.  Cut out cookies and bake on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper for 15 minutes.  Do not over bake!  I cut my cookies out AFTER I bake the dough.  I roll out the dough into sheets and cut out the shapes while the dough is still warm.  This will not work if dough has cooled.
