When we purchased our historic home, we had to prioritize our renovation budget. One of the last rooms to receive a makeover was our guest bathroom which was the only bathroom in the house when it was originally built. The photo below depicts a 1990's renovation completed by the previous owners which is how it looked when we purchased the home.

“The white paneling you see in the after photos is called Pickwick paneling. Many of the historic homes here in Coral Gables had this paneling in bedrooms, kitchen pantries and sometimes bathrooms. More often than not, it was not painted white but stained and varnished which reflected a caramel color. I decided to hand paint mine white to make this small space seem larger.”
